Una L. Lauricia

Una Lauricia uses her manufacturing engineering background to counsel clients on a variety of intellectual property risks and strategies.

Una’s practice focuses on securing, protecting, and licensing patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property. Leveraging her past experience as corporate counsel in a Fortune 500 company and in a successful consumer products company, Una adeptly assists clients in identifying and acquiring new intellectual property assets while protecting current assets.

With more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law, Una has successfully assisted clients in various industries – from startups to multinational corporations – in safeguarding their brands and innovations. Una has a proven track record of securing trademark registrations and resolving complex trademark disputes efficiently and effectively. She advises clients through each step of the trademark process including trademark selection, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement. Una represents clients in federal district court litigation, as well as proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Una also advises clients on various brand protection measures on the internet, including in e-commerce, advertising, social media, domain names, and copycat or fraudulent websites.

With a degree in manufacturing engineering, Una applies her technical expertise to secure valuable patents in diverse fields, including consumer appliances, semiconductor manufacturing, robotic systems, medical devices, and manufacturing of beverage containers and assemblies. She helps inventors and companies navigate the complex patent process from conducting thorough prior art searches to preparing and prosecuting patent applications.

Una works closely with clients to develop comprehensive intellectual property strategies tailored toward their business objectives. She drafts and negotiates a variety of agreements, including non-disclosure, licensing, independent contractor, development, and purchase agreements. Prior to entering law, Una worked in supply chain and as a manufacturing engineer for Swagelok Company. Because of this experience, Una recognizes the value in taking a holistic approach to solving legal issues and minimizing risks across the entire business.
