Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Jay Campbell, Josh Ryland, and Tim Manning have joined the firm’s Cleveland office, expanding the firm’s capabilities in the area of intellectual property law.

Mr. Campbell joins Tucker Ellis as a Partner in the firm’s Trial Department. A member of the Business Litigation group, he brings nearly 25 years of experience representing clients in diverse technological fields ranging from neuronavigation systems to chrome plating before state, federal, and appellate courts. He has tried numerous patent cases to a jury, and he often serves as an expert witness and consultant in intellectual property cases nationwide. Mr. Campbell received his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law and his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University.

Mr. Ryland also joins the firm’s Trial Department as a Partner in the Business Litigation group. Mr. Ryland focuses on high-stakes intellectual property and technology cases for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has tried multiple jury and bench trials, and has handled numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition to patent infringement cases, Mr. Ryland represents clients in matters involving copyright and trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, fraud, product liability, and unfair competition. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.

Mr. Manning is Counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property group within the Business Department. He has more than 15 years of experience counseling clients with respect to patent and trademark procurement, post grant proceedings, right to market and infringement opinions, and intellectual property agreements. Mr. Manning combines his experience with patent litigation and prosecution to secure both offensive and defensive patent protection for clients in competitive markets and to minimize risks associated with product releases. He received his law degree cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He earned his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, and his bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jay, Josh, and Tim to the firm,” said Managing Partner Joe Morford. “They are exactly the type of top quality lawyers and people our firm is fast becoming known for both growing and attracting. As our clients continue to ask us to do more and more of their IP work, this group adds a depth of capability and expertise to our IP team that will serve our client relationships and firm very well, for many years to come.”
