Tucker Ellis Obtains Defense Verdict for Johnson & Johnson in Pelvic Mesh Case

On July 21, Tucker Ellis obtained a defense verdict for client Johnson & Johnson in the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division – Toledo in Burris v. Ethicon, Inc., et al. The 9-day trial involved a product liability case alleging injuries from transvaginal mesh. Defense counsel secured the verdict on failure to warn after plaintiff’s counsel requested more than $8.6 million in compensatory damages during closing argument.

Co-trial counsel Sherry Knutson and Tariq Naeem represented Johnson & Johnson, with assistance from Michael Ruttinger, Erica James, and Giuseppe Pappalardo. Butler Snow LLP served as national counsel and provided trial support.
