Jeff Sindelar Discusses Constitutionality of Vaccine Mandates on “The Bob Frantz Authority”

August 2021

On August 3, Jeff Sindelar discussed the constitutionality and history of vaccine requirements in the United States on Hour 2 of “The Bob Frantz Authority” on Cleveland’s AM 1420. Jeff contrasted states’ ability to mandate vaccines with the federal government’s power to conscript citizens into the military at times of war. Jeff also discussed the long history of vaccine mandates in the United States, including General George Washington’s inoculation of the Continental Army against smallpox in 1777 and the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1905 decision in Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11, upholding compulsory smallpox vaccination in Massachusetts. Listen to the podcast here.
