Consistent with our focus on building better lawyers faster, the Tucker Ellis Business Law Institute seeks to quickly and effectively develop the firm’s business lawyers and make each one fluent in a common “language of business,” or lingua negoti. Participants take an in-depth look at the issues business attorneys face in their daily practice and receive training, topic-specific mentoring, and best practices education to help them thrive.
How it works
Held twice a year, Business Law Institute is an interactive two-day program for our corporate, finance, tax, and employee benefits attorneys consisting of presentations, panel discussions, and roundtable conversations focused on the transactional areas of law, including:
- mergers and acquisitions
- corporate governance
- employee benefits
- banking and financing
- litigation pitfalls in business transactions
- various industry-specific regulations
Senior Tucker Ellis attorneys and other experts provide hot-topic training on important current developments in business, educational workshops focused on practice-specific topics, and collaborative meetings where attorneys of all levels share thoughts and ideas on important and timely issues in the corporate world.
Through these sessions, our business attorneys develop a cohesive, best practices-based approach to transactions, gaining the knowledge and insight necessary to provide our clients with the sophisticated, efficient, and cost-effective counsel they expect and deserve.
Our goal
Business Law Institute aims to help our attorneys develop a shared understanding of how clients want us to approach and solve their business problems. In addition to equipping our attorneys with the skills necessary to best serve our corporate clients, the program enhances their knowledge of their own specific areas of expertise as well as of other transactional law practices, and promotes collegiality and professional relationships among the participants.
