On April 11, Jen Steinmetz moderated a panel at IADC’s 2024 Corporate Counsel College in Chicago. The session – “Staying Ahead of the Curve: A Corporate Counsel’s Guide to Responsible Use of AI” – provided an overview of the benefits, risks, and mitigation strategies related to AI use in an in-house corporate setting, as well as examples of AI use cases aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiency. The panelists also explained the importance of implementing a corporate “responsible AI” policy; discussed best practices for AI use by stakeholders across the company, including marketing, finance, and human resources; and provided various examples of tools that can facilitate the AI integration process, including a demonstration illustrating the significant value that adaptation can bring.
