Marlin Gramajo Gillespie

Marlin regularly counsels clients on employment matters and develops proactive strategies to help them avoid litigation before it starts. When disputes do arise, she defends employers across a broad range of claims, including individual and class action wage and hour litigation, PAGA representative actions, discrimination and harassment claims under FEHA and related statutes (encompassing disability, gender, race, and age), whistleblower and retaliation matters, and labor relations issues. She also conducts employee interviews for fact gathering and internal investigations, giving her a well-rounded understanding of each matter from the ground up.

Marlin brings high empathy and strong communication skills to every client relationship. She takes the time to truly understand each client and their unique needs, working collaboratively to brainstorm practical solutions. That client-centered approach, paired with sharp negotiation skills and direct engagement with opposing counsel, has consistently led to favorable outcomes, including early and cost-effective settlements.

An efficient and skilled writer, Marlin has drafted a wide variety of motions, including motions for summary judgment, motions to compel arbitration, demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, and motions in limine. She also has extensive experience with written discovery, has conducted voluminous document reviews, and has managed complex productions from start to finish. Beyond her written work, Marlin has taken depositions that produce great witness testimony to support the client’s defense.
