Tucker Ellis Chicago Hallway Participates in Cycle for Survival to Benefit Rare Cancer Research
February 7, 2025
On February 5, members of the Tucker Ellis Chicago Hallway rode in “Cycle for Survival,” an annual event led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) to accelerate progress in rare cancer research and bring new and better treatment options to people around the world. This year marks the Chicago Hallway’s seventh year participating in Cycle for Survival.
The 2025 Tucker Ellis team, led by Sherry Knutson, also included Greg Abrams, Kristy Pluth, and Jay Shultz. The team’s ride was dedicated to family and friends who are fighting or have fought rare cancers, including Tami Jaskiewicz, their extraordinary secretary who, after a valiant battle with liver cancer, passed away in 2023. As of February 7, our team had raised funds of more than $6,000, with further donations accepted through April 15, 2025.
Since 2007, Cycle for Survival has raised $376.5M for innovative research and clinical trials at MSK, fueling countless cancer breakthroughs that continue to save lives worldwide. About half of all people with cancer have a rare form of the disease. Rare cancers include leukemia and lymphoma; thyroid, ovarian, brain, and pancreatic cancers; and all pediatric cancers. Every dollar raised goes directly into MSK labs, where researchers have expertise in more than 400 types of cancer. Funding from Cycle for Survival has led to the FDA approval of new drugs, lifesaving clinical trials, and state-of-the-art DNA sequencers.
