On September 5, SHRM quoted Greg Abrams in its article, “How Can Employers Deal with Threatening Customers?” The article explores options that employers can take when their employees are abused, insulted, or harassed by customers or clients. Greg noted the importance of adequately addressing such incidents, since threats of violence to an employee can be traumatic.

“Employers must recognize this potential and, depending on the severity, may have an obligation to afford time off or take other steps,” Greg said.
