Four Tucker Ellis attorneys participated in two presentations at the NAMC (National Association of Minority Contractors) 56th Annual National Conference held June 17–19 in Cleveland.
In their presentation “Legal Considerations for Joint Ventures in the Construction Industry,” Ludgy LaRochelle and Paul Malie explored the best strategies to structure joint ventures to mitigate risks and liabilities, identify management roles and responsibilities, implement dispute resolution mechanisms, and develop workable exit strategies in cases of known and unknown circumstances.
Spencer Krebs and Seth Wamelink were part of a panel of legal and construction industry experts discussing “Protect Your Project: Legal Must-Knows for Construction Contractors.” The panelists broke down the key legal pitfalls contractors face and how to avoid them. Topics included how to negotiate better terms, protect payment rights, and navigate emerging challenges like supply chain disruptions and diversity compliance requirements.
