On August 25, Tucker Ellis obtained a complete defense verdict for clients BMW AG, BMW of North America, LLC, and South Bay Motors, LLC, in Los Angeles. The five-week crashworthiness trial involved claims for $104.25 million in economic and non-economic damages from a plaintiff who was rendered quadriplegic during a car accident. The BMW defendants contended that their car’s restraint system was state-of-the-art and safely designed. The jury found for the BMW defendants on all causes of action.
