On April 24, the John Hay Early College High School (JHEC) Mock Trial Teams coached by Tucker Ellis attorneys shone brightly in the 19th Annual Cleveland Mock Trial Championship. One team took second place, while four students won best witnesses awards and three won best lawyers awards for their trials. Tucker Ellis-coached students also won for best overall witness and best entry for the writing competition, earning the winners paid summer internships with the Cleveland Municipal Court. Many thanks to Karen Ross and Brandon Cox for their coordination and coaching, with the help of Chelsea Croy, Carter Strang, and paralegal Kathleen Mearns.
