On October 23, Vicky Vance co-presented an Ohio law update at the 19th Annual Pharmacology Law Update Conference at MetroHealth in Cleveland. The annual conference is designed to increase the knowledge of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN), Physician Assistants (PA), Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAA), Registered Nurses (RN), and Physicians in the pharmacologic management of health problems. Vicky focused on Ohio legal updates that affect the provider’s scope of practice and authority, including a discussion of recent settlements and verdicts from nursing practice, as well as other perennial ‘hot topics” such as HIPAA compliance, EMR practice patterns, and recent prosecutions for fraud and abuse schemes that have ensnared nurses.
