Monica Williams Monroe and DT Amajoyi spoke at the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP) 2025 Annual Business Conference, held in San Francisco on September 10–12.
Monica moderated “Leading From Every Seat: Building Leadership Skills for Impact and Influence.” Monica and the panelists – including Kristina Lawson, Managing Partner of Hanson Bridgett LLP; Reginald Roberts, co-founding partner with Sanders Roberts; and Brian Wong, Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Pacific Gas & Electric Company – explored different leadership styles and shared practical strategies to strengthen leadership presence, navigate organizational dynamics and unprecedented challenges, and lead with purpose, regardless of title or role.
DT, who serves on the CMCP conference planning committee, planned and hosted a panel discussion, “Charting Your Course: Intentional Career Moves in a Shifting Legal Landscape.” The panelists – Raul Alcantar, General Counsel at Cross Border Xpress; Anna Marie Armstrong, Senior Director of Recruiting at Paragon Legal; Kevin Reese, Partner at Jackson Lewis P.C., and panel moderator Deanna Kwong, Senior Director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise – shared how they identified the right next step, overcame uncertainty, and aligned their choices with long-term goals. Attendees gained insightful, honest advice and actionable strategies for moving forward with purpose.
