Diana Katz Gerstel Discusses How Mass Tort Litigation Targets Women at IADC 2025 Annual Meeting

July 6, 2025

On July 6, Diana Katz Gerstel was a panelist at the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) 2025 Annual Meeting, held July 5-10 in Quebec. The presentation, “Recklessness, Greed, and Guinea Pigs: How Mass Tort Litigation Targets Women,” addressed how, for decades, women’s health issues have dominated mass tort litigation. The panelists discussed why women are targeted by costly mass torts that are often unsupported by science and sometimes result in products being pulled from the market. The panel explored strategies for convincing judges and juries that such severe consequences should occur only when sound and proven science supports them.
