Razi S. Lane

Razi Lane brings clerkship experience from federal and state courts to support attorneys and clients firmwide.

Razi focuses his practice on complex litigation and appeals. Before joining Tucker Ellis, he clerked for U.S. District Judge Mark S. Norris (W.D. Tenn.) and Ohio Associate Justice Pat DeWine. These opportunities trained him to present concise, robust, and persuasive arguments to the courts. Razi also spent one year as a deputy to then Indiana Solicitor General Tom Fisher, where he took depositions, helped to successfully defend two state statutes from constitutional attack, and drafted an amicus brief for Indiana and 18 other states to the U.S. Supreme Court. Since joining Tucker Ellis, he has briefed appellate matters and critical motions in state and federal courts across the nation.

While at Notre Dame Law School, Razi served as Senior Managing Editor of the Journal of International & Comparative Law and received the A. Harold Weber Moot Court Award for outstanding achievement in oral advocacy. He interned at the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, where he refined his research and writing skills under direct guidance from senior government attorneys and military judges. Razi also externed for U.S. District Judge John R. Blakey (N.D. Ill.) during law school.

Razi enjoys making new friends in coffee shops, exploring national parks, reading the work of C.S. Lewis, and running half-marathons with his brother.
