Ying Chen

Technical Specialist and Legal Interpreter/Translator
Cleveland, OH | D 216.696.3371 | F 216.592.5009

Ying Chen uses her science background and experience in American and Chinese law as a technical specialist and legal interpreter/translator.

With a Bachelor of Science in material physics and a minor in law from Fudan University in Shanghai, China, Ying is particularly suited to intellectual property matters, where she assists with patent prosecution and international filing, patent clearance search, patent licensing negotiation, invention disclosure, and patent drafting.

Ying's strong research and analytical skills – paired with her ability to communicate fluently and effectively in Chinese and English, both orally and in writing – is an invaluable asset to clients in matters involving areas outside IP, as well, including mergers & acquisitions, artificial intelligence, private equity, and finance, among others.

As the daughter of a lawyer and former judge, Ying has always been attracted to the legal profession. She is currently preparing for both the U.S. Patent Bar and Chinese Bar exams.

A tennis fan, Ying credits Roger Federer for her love of the sport. Having learned poster design using Photoshop during college, she still occasionally does that for fun.
