Paul Janowicz is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on commercial litigation and risk management, including insurance coverage litigation and analysis, data security and privacy, and commercial contract disputes.

Paul emphasizes practical problem-solving strategies while vigilantly representing his clients.

Paul is experienced in numerous aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, and preparing dispositive and evidentiary motions. As a member of the Tucker Ellis Privacy & Data Security Group and the firm’s own risk management team, he also has experience counseling clients following data security breaches, preparing incident response plans, and analyzing security risk factors.

A Cleveland native, Paul is still in euphoric disbelief that the Cavaliers finally brought a championship home to Cleveland. He enjoys playing soccer and volleyball year-round. A fan of Cleveland’s booming food scene, his own cooking skills remain a work in progress.

  • Obtained summary judgment for specialty insurance carrier against breach of contract claim in litigation involving real estate investments
  • Counseled numerous clients regarding their legal obligations following actual or suspected data security breaches
  • Represented trustee in a foreclosure action of TIF-financed property in Northern Ohio, resulting in a favorable settlement
  • Assisted with the successful defense of a public company against fiduciary duty class action claims, resulting in complete dismissal
  • Represented local cooperative in breach of contract action against sophisticated customers, resulting in favorable settlement
  • Successfully represented an independent investment bank in a discovery action against a property developer
