Patricia Seifert, chair of the Tucker Ellis Construction Group and chair of the Tucker Ellis Women’s Initiative, focuses her practice on commercial litigation and personal injury litigation involving construction, construction defects, product liability, personal injury, work place injuries and safety, and motor vehicle accidents.

She has tried or arbitrated cases in states including Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Illinois, as well as in the federal courts. Pat also assists clients in project delivery selection and management, contract formation, contract negotiation, and dispute avoidance, both nationally and internationally.

Pat is part of the Tucker Ellis team that serves as national counsel for a Fortune 300 product manufacturer in its motor vehicle accident and premises liability litigation. She manages and oversees the defense of cases involving serious injuries and multiple surgeries, focusing on overall case management, depositions of expert witnesses, identifying and developing defense experts, trial preparation, and trial. She has served in this role in dozens of cases in state and federal courts throughout the country.

Before joining Tucker Ellis, Pat spent 15 years as general counsel for a national construction firm, material supplier and manufacturer. In her tenure there, she represented the companies in construction claims and requests for equitable adjustments as well as commercial, personal injury, OSHA and workers compensation litigation. She also handled administrative proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations in local, state, and federal courts. As an in-house counsel, Pat managed an internal and external team when handling a variety of affirmative action issues, onsite federal inspections, and union disputes. She also led all crisis communications initiatives when necessary, working with the companies and employees on effective messaging. Lastly, Pat developed, implemented, and managed a nationwide self-insured workers compensation program for the companies.

Pat is a member of the Construction and Commercial Arbitration Panels for the American Arbitration Association where she routinely hears and decides commercial and construction disputes. She is a frequent lecturer on risk transfer in construction contracts, lien and surety bond law, and wage requirements in construction projects.
