Brittany L. Weiss

Brittany Weiss focuses her practice on medical device and pharmaceutical liability matters.

Brittany represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in coordinated proceedings, multidistrict litigations, and individual cases. Her experience spans several aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, conducting and defending depositions, attending court hearings, and assisting with overall case strategy.

Before joining Tucker Ellis, Brittany worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Deborah Mary Dooling in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. During her tenure there, she gained unique insight into the litigation process, as well as valuable experience drafting orders and analyzing and reviewing case law, expert testimony, dispositive and post-trial motions, and motions in limine. Brittany also conducted research on a wide variety of issues, primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, and mass tort litigation. Through this experience, Brittany learned to always maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism – qualities integral to the practice of law.

While completing her undergraduate studies, Brittany worked as a legal intern at a personal injury firm where she assisted as a virtual second chair in a three-and-a-half-week jury trial involving the wrongful death of a minor child, which, undoubtedly, reinforced her interest in the law. This experience, where Brittany was present and assisted with almost every aspect of the trial – from jury selection through the rendering of the verdict – instilled in her the significance of planning, preparation, and vigilance in representing clients, as well as the necessary passion and fervor that play a key role in achieving results.

During law school, Brittany clerked at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, as well as a criminal defense firm, and ultimately discovered her niche in the area of medical device and pharmaceutical liability.

In her free time, Brittany enjoys practicing yoga and traveling with her husband Zack.
