Tucker Ellis Attorney-Coached CEC High School Mock Trial Team Nets Two Awards

May 2017

On May 5, Tucker Ellis attorneys coached the Cleveland Early College (CEC) High School Mock Trial Team in the Cleveland Mock Trial Championship. Team members won best attorney and best witness awards in the two trials in which they participated. The morning trial – pitting CEC against Whitney Young High School – was taped for replay on Cleveland TV 20. Karen Ross and Brandon Cox coordinated the coaching effort, joined by Chad Eggspuehler and Carter Strang, along with two CEC Mock Trial Team alumni, Brandon Brown and Dairian Heard.

In addition to mock trial coaching, Tucker Ellis – as part of its 11-year partnership with CEC – provides three teams of attorneys who teach law-based lessons and provide career counseling in CEC’s U.S. Government classes. The firm also provides paid summer legal internships for CEC graduates enrolled in college who want to become attorneys, participates in the school’s Junior Achievement Day, and has two attorneys on the CEC Advisory Committee.
