On December 30, Sharla J. Frost was highlighted in The Oklahoman article, "Regional Universities Are Ladders to Success." The story explores Oklahoma's public regional universities, which have been found by two national studies to outperform the "national average of upward social mobility by 38%."

"Sharla Frost epitomizes RUSO's (The Regional University System of Oklahoma) upward social mobility success," the article reads. Sharla, an honors student in high school, received a Parson's scholarship to attend college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. There she joined the debate squad, a decision that led to her winning a full scholarship to law school at Baylor University.

"A regional university gives you those kind of opportunities," Sharla said. "They encourage and help people explore what those possibilities are. They get overlooked for the type of graduates they're turning out. It's a really great group of people."
