Scott Stitt, Chelsea Mikula, and Peter Jones spoke at The ESOP Association’s Great Lakes ESOP Conference 2021 (OH/KY, IN, MI Chapters), held September 27-29 in Sandusky, Ohio.

On September 28, Scott and Chelsea co-presented an overview of hot ESOP legal topics, including new ESOP cases, the latest on the DOL’s Process Agreements for ESOP trustees, the arbitration of ERISA claims, and the latest regulatory and legislative developments. In a separate presentation, Pete discussed documents required to be provided to participants annually and those that they are entitled to if they request them, as well as ways to handle challenging participants. On September 29, Chelsea provided a deep dive into various valuation issues and recent trends using DOL case examples.
