The firm welcomes Pat to our Business Department.

Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that M. Patricia Oliver has joined the firm’s Business Department as a partner. With decades of experience in the areas of securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions both within and outside the financial services industry, Ms. Oliver chairs the Tucker Ellis Financial Services Group. She maintains an active practice representing banks and thrifts before federal and state regulators.

A former partner with Squire Sanders, Ms. Oliver developed a successful strategic plan for the firm’s financial services practice—the firm’s first cross-functional, industry-based practice. She joins Tucker Ellis from Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease where she represented well-known Northeast Ohio-based financial institutions.

Complementing her experience in private practice is her service as an inside advisor at Fortune 500®, NYSE-listed BB&T Corporation where she served as executive vice president, general counsel, chief corporate governance officer, and corporate secretary.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Pat aboard,” said Tucker Ellis Business Department Chair Brian O’Neill. “Her unique perspective and combination of vision and know-how will drive the future of our Financial Services Group as a truly integrated financial services practice.”

“Pat’s client-centric approach makes her a natural fit for us,” remarked Tucker Ellis Managing Partner Joe Morford. “She shares our vision and values to provide the best, most efficient and cost-effective experience to our clients.”

Ms. Oliver earned her law degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she was managing editor of the school’s law review. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Allegheny College.
