Peter Jones Joins Tucker Ellis Business Department as Counsel in Columbus

February 2021

Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Peter Jones has joined the firm’s Business Department as Counsel in its Columbus office.

Mr. Jones advises business owners, companies, and fiduciaries on employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), transition strategies, corporate governance, employee benefits, executive compensation, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents companies and trustees in the formation of ESOPs, the sale of ESOP-owned companies, and acquisitions undertaken by ESOP-owned companies. He also advises clients on regulatory compliance and defends them in connection with audits and investigations by the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service.

Actively involved with The ESOP Association, the National Center for Employee Ownership, the Ohio Employee Ownership Center, and other ESOP organizations across the country, Mr. Jones is well known for his work in ESOP transactions in Columbus, throughout the state of Ohio, and nationally. He will be a key member of the Tucker Ellis national ESOP team that handles transactions, ESOP administration, DOL and IRS issues, and litigation for ESOP companies, trustees, sellers, and service providers across the United States.

In addition to his ESOP expertise, Mr. Jones assists clients with employee benefits, transition and succession planning, and M&A issues across a wide range of industries and backgrounds. He has served on boards of directors and company committees, experience that further provides clients a unique perspective.

Mr. Jones received his law degree summa cum laude from Capital University Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University.
