Glenn Morrical Speaks at Crain’s Shale Summit

February 25, 2014

On February 20, Glenn Morrical spoke at Crain’s Shale Summit 2014. The program offered attendees an update on the Utica shale play and discussions on the environment, hydraulic fracturing, leases, water issues, and mineral rights. Glenn joined a panel of experts in environmental law and mineral rights issues discussing “The Most From a Lease.” The panel discussed many possible points of contention in oil and gas leases, including issues arising from using new production techniques on leases that were signed before those techniques were even imagined. The panel also addressed “mandatory unitization,” which permits a producer to include land in a drilling unit without the consent of the landowner.
