Joe Koncelik Comments on Pending Ohio Legislation to Clean Up Brownfield Sites

Clean Ohio – Ohio’s brownfield redevelopment grant program that operated for over a decade until 2012 – cleaned up and redeveloped brownfields sites throughout Ohio. The Columbus Dispatch interviewed Joe Koncelik on proposed legislation that would restore funding to the program: Senate Bill 83, to create a list of all Ohio brownfield sites; and Senate Bill 84, to provide grants for brownfield assessment and cleanup.

When asked whether restoring funding to the Clean Ohio Fund was good for Ohio, Joe responded, “Ohio had the best brownfield redevelopment in the country when Clean Ohio was in its heyday.”
