David Steele Addresses Harvard Law School Digital Privacy Class on GDPR’s Impact on Enforcing IP Rights on the Internet

On March 28, David Steele addressed students at Harvard Law School on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its impact on enforcing intellectual property rights on the Internet. David discussed the application of the EU’s privacy regulation outside its borders, as well as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ (ICANN) recent policy permitting domain name registrars and registrars to stop disclosing ownership records for registered domain names world-wide to comply with the GDPR. He also shared with the students his first-hand perspective on practicing Internet and intellectual property law.
