For the second consecutive year, Gilmour Academy's Moot Court team took home the championship in the annual Ohio High School Moot Court Competition, marking the third championship for Gilmour in the five years since the Moot Court program began. Brandon Cox coached the team of high school students, who also brought home first-place wins for Best Respondent Brief and Best Petitioner Brief. Moot Court focuses on the appellate court process and is designed to provide students the opportunity to present a simulated oral argument and respond to questions posed by a panel of volunteer judges. Arguments are evaluated on the application of the law to the facts of the case. The Ohio Center for Law-Related Education hosted the fifth annual competition at the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in Columbus, Ohio, on May 4.
