Chris Hewitt Comments to Oil Daily on SandRidge’s Failed Attempt to Acquire Bonanza Creek

On January 2, Chris Hewitt commented to Oil Daily on the aftermath of SandRidge Energy’s failed attempt to acquire Bonanza Creek Energy. SandRidge surrendered to shareholder pressure and abandoned the $746 million cash-and-stock merger. However, majority shareholder and outspoken critic Carl Icahn is still not satisfied with the actions of the board. He could seek to replace the board, certain directors, or SandRidge’s entire management team.

According to Hewitt, “It’s like being the manager of a sports team that’s failing … At some point, someone is going to be the scapegoat.”
