On January 28, Art Mertes spoke at “Essentials for Corporate Governance,” a program sponsored by the Society for Corporate Governance. The four-day seminar featured comprehensive content delivered by experienced faculty and plenary and breakout sessions for public and private companies. Art led a panel of expert in-house counsel/senior-level leaders of private equity-backed companies to discuss “Private Companies: Private Equity Ownership.” He and the panelists offered valuable insights into general private equity trends, whether a PE firm might target your company, if you should sell to a PE firm, PE directors, working with PE owners, and PE effect on your legacy plan.
