Tucker Ellis Taps Scott Hamilton to Steer Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives

Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Scott Hamilton has joined the firm as Diversity Manager, a new role created to oversee the firm’s equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts. Mr. Hamilton brings nearly a decade of professional experience as an advocate for leadership development to the position.

As Tucker Ellis Diversity Manager, Mr. Hamilton directs the management, design, and implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives at the firm, working to assure that EDI is always considered in firm decisionmaking. He also researches, tracks, and analyzes information with respect to the recruitment, retention, and promotion of historically underrepresented professionals; serves as a resource, mentor, and advisor to the entire firm on EDI efforts and issues; and identifies and implements best practices in EDI. Additionally, Mr. Hamilton serves as a leader and resource for the firm’s EDI Committee, providing direction and insight to translate complex challenges into straightforward solutions.

Operating under the principle that equity and inclusion naturally result when diversity is truly present, Mr. Hamilton works to ensure the firm not only delivers on its EDI pledges, but also actively pursues new opportunities to continue expanding on them.

A graduate of Cleveland State University with an M.A. in Psychology and certificate in Diversity Management, Mr. Hamilton is an ongoing participant in the Racial Equity Institute’s Racial Equity Training through his leadership role with the Deaconess Foundation. Before joining Tucker Ellis, he served as Director of Corporate Giving for the MetroHealth Foundation, where he managed EDI training for the entire organization as a co-leader for the African American Alliance Employee Resource Group. He also served as Assistant Dean for Advancement and External Affairs at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where he successfully increased engagement between the Alumni Association and diverse alumni groups.
