Pipeline Initiatives
Tucker Ellis & West LLP is actively involved in a number of pipeline initiatives designed to encourage economically disadvantaged and minority students to learn about and pursue careers in the legal profession.
The firm’s pipeline program is coordinated by Carter Strang, who began it in Cleveland in 2007 through a partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s John Hay Early College Program (JHEC). The program has since been expanded to include TEW’s Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, under the leadership of TEW attorneys Pat Fennelly, Leslie Criswell and Janice Hugener in each of those cites. In 2010 the Los Angeles program received the Pillar Partnershp Award for its outstanding partnership with Lincoln HS of the Los Angeles Consolidated School District. Click here to read about the Pillar Partnership Award.
As yet another aspect of TEW’s Pipeline Diversity Program, TEW also funds the Robert C. Tucker scholarship for graduates of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District that attend Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
