Strang Sworn in as FBA Chapter President and Watson as Elected Director

(Cleveland, OH – October 12, 2009) Carter Strang, a Partner with Tucker Ellis & West LLP (TEW), was sworn in as President of the Federal Bar Association, Northern District of Ohio Chapter by U.S. District Court Judge Dan Polster. Chief Judge of the Northern District, James Carr, swore in the Chapter's officers and Board of Directors, which included TEW’s Sanford Watson, as an Elected Director.
In his remarks to the Chapter's members and guests attending the event at the Carl Stokes U.S. Court House in Cleveland, Strang vowed to follow the FBA's motto "Raising the Bar to New Heights" by expansion of Chapter events in Toledo, Youngstown, Akron and the other cities in the District and through a new partnership with all Northern District Law Schools.
Strang announced the addition of U.S. District Court Judges Benita Pearson and Greg White as Chapter Board members and of Barbara Paynter of Hennes Communications as a Citizen Representative to the Chapter's Board of Directors. Each law school has also named representatives to the Chapter's Board. Strang further announced that the Chapter will partner with a Cleveland Municipal Schools High School Mock Trial Team by providing coaching for the team in the 2010 Cleveland Mock Trial Championship.
The Northern District of Ohio covers the 40 northern counties of Ohio stretching from Pennsylvania to Indiana and includes federal courthouses in Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, and Toledo.
