Tucker Ellis & West LLP is First Law Firm "Green Certified" by CMBAJune 2009 Cleveland, Ohio – (June 29, 2009) Tucker Ellis & West LLP (“TEW”) has the distinction of being the first law firm to be “Green Certified” by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Being certified by the CMBA involves meeting certain criteria, including paper use (recycling, use of recycled paper, and increased double-sided copying), recycling of beverage containers and e-waste (computers, copy machines, etc.) reductions in energy use, and the formation of a green committee. TEW will be presented with a Green Certificate at the CMBA’s David Webster Greener Way to Work Day on September 25, 2009. Having made the decision to “go green” in 2008 and the formation of a Green Committee in 2009, TEW instituted a wide variety of initiatives to help meet their goal of being responsible keepers of the environment. Recently, the Cleveland office participated in Cleveland Bike to Work Day (the first and only law firm to do so) and held an Earth Day program featuring a “green” speaker and a wine & cheese reception featuring all organic and locally grown samplings.
