CMBA's Diversity Action Committee: Promoting Opportunities for Students through Pipeline ProgramsJune 2010 No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone … a great adage that comes to life through the High School Internship Program. The Program matches urban high school students who have an interest in the legal profession with law firms or a public-sector legal agency. The students learn about the legal field, shadow attorneys to depositions and court appearances, and assist lawyers, paralegals, and other legal professionals with their daily work. TEW’s dedication to employing, mentoring, and educating high school students provides the students with an essential element to success — opportunity. The students are given an opportunity to meet and work with legal professionals; an opportunity to learn new skills; an opportunity to be exposed to new experiences and expand their horizons; and an opportunity to be a contributing member of society. TEW is also given an opportunity through the Program — an opportunity to help urban high school students believe, achieve, and succeed.
