Eight Summer Associates Join TEW

Cleveland, Ohio – (June 9, 2010) Tucker Ellis & West LLP has announced that eight law school students, Frank Ewing, Jennifer Hoover, Kimberly Klatka, Christopher Pantoja, Sloan Sanford, George Skupski, Paul Smith, and Sarah Anne Stover have joined the firm as summer associates in the Cleveland office.
Frank Ewing graduated from Le Moyne College with a B.A. in Political Science. He is attending the University of Buffalo Law School, where he will be Student Body President as a 2L in the fall. Prior to law school, Mr. Ewing was the Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Consulting Practice at BBP Parteners in Cleveland. Additionally, he held positions with KPMG in New York City and HSBC Bank in Buffalo. Frank is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Jennifer Hoover grew up in Cleveland and attended Magnificat High School. She graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in History and Government, and studied abroad for two terms at Cambridge University in England. Ms. Hoover recently completed her second year at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and is the Law Review’s Executive Symposium Editor for the 2010-2011 year. While at Case, Jennifer was a volunteer in the CMBA’s 3R’s program, a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant, and Vice President of the Woman’s Law Association.
Kimberly Klatka completed her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at the College of Wooster. After graduating, she spent a year teaching English in Nara, Japan, and then another year working in Boston at the law firm of Smith & Duggan. Ms. Klatka is currently pursuing her J.D. at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Kimberly is an active SBA class senator and also enjoys volunteering with various campus organizations, including Streetlaw and Students for Social Justice.
Christopher Pantoja just completed his second year at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he serves as research editor on the Cleveland State Law Review. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1995. Prior to law school, Mr. Pantoja worked for over ten years in the pharmaceutical industry as a professional sales consultant. He recently completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Kathleen McDonald O’Malley in the Northern District of Ohio, and has worked at Reminger and McCafferty & Dorman.
Sloan Sanford recently completed her first year at Case Western Reserve University, where she is a dual-degree student in law and public health. She is also a member of the Black Law Student Association and International Law Society. Ms. Sanford graduated from Howard University in 2007 with a B.A. in Anthropology. Prior to attending law school, she worked in a variety of public health settings in Washington, D.C., including AcademyHealth and the National Human Genome Center at Howard University. Most recently, Sloan was the inaugural coordinator of the Office of Minority Health for the City of Akron.
George Skupski recently completed his first year at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He serves as a law school student ambassador and enjoys volunteering with the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3R’s program. Mr. Skupski received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron in Finance, during which time he worked for a retail stock brokerage and a national insurance and investments broker-dealer.
Paul Smith attends the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and will receive his J.D. in December. He served as a Senior Editor of the Cleveland-Marshall Journal of Law and Health. Additionally, he served as an extern for Judge Melody Steward of the Eighth District Court of Appeals. Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Rochester and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. Paul has over ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where he functioned as a specialty sales representative and also a senior staffing associate.
Sarah Stover just completed her second year at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She is concentrating in health law and is the Managing Editor of Health Matrix: The Journal of Law-Medicine. Ms. Stover received a Bachelor in the Science of Nursing in 2003 from Case Western Reserve University. Prior to entering law school, Sarah managed a Coumadin clinic outside of Washington, DC, and worked as a medical-surgical nurse in Cleveland.
