Carter Strang Named Vice-President of CMBA

Cleveland, Ohio – (May 18, 2010) - Carter E. Strang, a partner with Tucker Ellis & West LLP, has been named Vice-President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Strang’s practice at TEW focuses on environmental, mass tort, and product liability litigation.
Mr. Strang initiated and serves as coordinator of TEW’s unique Pipeline Diversity Program, which involves a partnership between TEW and the John Hay Early College Program of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The partnership includes monthly visits by TEW attorneys to teach the award winning Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3Rs curriculum, which aids students in passing the Ohio Graduation Test and includes career counseling. TEW also coaches the JHEC Mock Trial Team (Cleveland Champions 2008 and ’09) and hires JHEC students to work as summer interns at the firm. Under Mr. Strang’s leadership, the program has been extended to TEW’s Los Angeles and Denver offices, with plans to do so in its San Francisco office this fall.
Mr. Strang is Immediate Past Chair (2007-2009) of the 3Rs Program, which was honored with the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Outstanding Program Award (2008) and received several American Bar Association awards.
Additionally, Mr. Strang originated the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s (CMBA) Green Initiative and Chairs its Green Initiative Committee. Mr. Strang is President of the Federal Bar Association, Northern District of Ohio Chapter, and is a member of the CMBA Board of Trustees.
