On February 27, Dan Wright and Joe Koncelik spoke at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan & Pennsylvania Retail Development & Law Symposium. Dan and Joe – a former Ohio EPA director – participated on a panel including ICSC’s Ohio lobbyist, another former Ohio EPA director, and the current Ohio EPA assistant director, discussing “Hot Topics in Environmental Law Impacting Shopping Center Developers, Owners, Managers and Tenants.” The panel members examined recent developments and emerging topics in environmental law that are at the heart of disputes and litigation between shopping center developers, owners, managers, and tenants, and are of particular concern to those involved in expansion and redevelopment projects. ICSC’s Ohio lobbyist also discussed the industry’s lobbying efforts in this area, and how ICSC members can influence developing public policy.
