Tucker Ellis & West rejects the idea that the billable hour is the measure of success or value. Our focus is on accomplishment.
Our clients are looking for outstanding legal counsel. We believe the rational measure of outstanding lawyering is the quality of the result, not how many hours were billed.
Our associates have embraced this change. At a surprise party they threw for the partners on our first anniversary, (talk about something different for a law firm!) they issued a tongue-in-cheek list of demands. Item Number One: "We insist that the Firm reinstate the billable hour requirement as the sole measure of an associate's worth as a human being. We are sick and tired of being judged on character, professionalism, skill and dedication to clients and the Firm."
We have created a firm with a different set of expectations. Over time, this "difference" will lead to even greater efficiencies in how we can serve you, and an even closer partnership between our firm and your business.
