Rita A. Maimbourg

Rita Maimbourg, a Partner in the Cleveland office and co-chair of the Medical & Pharmaceutical Liability Group of Tucker Ellis & West LLP, is a trial lawyer who devotes the majority of her professional time to the defense of drug and device manufacturers, health care institutions, physicians, and nurses.  Her practice takes her to federal and state courts throughout the country.  Rita assists her health care clients in risk management activities and is committed to the training of our next generation of trial lawyers.  Towards that end, she developed an in-house training program to teach deposition and trial skills to our lawyers, which is now known as the Tucker Ellis & West Litigation Institute.

Rita grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 magna cum laude and her JD degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1981, Order of the Coif.

Over the years, Rita has been involved in several community and professional organizations.  She is a member and past President of the William K. Thomas Inn of Court and is a long-standing member of the Judicial Selection Committee of the Cleveland Bar Association.  She previously served as a trustee of the Cleveland Animal Protective League and as trustee and President of the Epilepsy Association of Northeast Ohio.  As she raises middle school twins, Rita is learning to apply her advocacy skills to real life.
