
Rennie C. Rutman is Counsel in the Cleveland office of Tucker Ellis & West LLP. As a member of the firm’s Business group, she practices extensively in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, probate, estate administration, trust administration, and the interrelated fields of estate, gift, and income taxation. She is an Ohio State board certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law.
While attending Case Western Reserve School of Law, Rennie was honored with the Arthur S. Petersilge Award for her excellence in the study of wills and trusts. Additionally, she earned the CALI Award for outstanding/best performance in Debtor/Creditor Law and American Legal History.
In December 2008, Ms. Rutman's article, "Rethinking Your Holiday Gift List - Why Now May be a Great Time to Give it Away", which discusses grantor retained annuity trusts and other leveraged gifting strategies, was published by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Journal.
Ms. Rutman was born in New York but grew up in University Heights and Beachwood. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, and Case Western Reserve University's Estate Planning Advisory Council.
