Monica D. Williams

Monica D. Williams is Counsel in the San Francisco office of Tucker Ellis & West. Her practice primarily focuses on product liability and toxic tort defense. She has represented a variety of corporate and insurance interests in product, contractor, premises, and supplier liability claims. Her litigation work has entailed defending claims in all phases of pre-trial proceedings as well as trial. She has also represented clients in general business litigation contract disputes in state, federal, and appellate matters.

While attending law school at Loyola in Los Angeles, Ms. Williams was a Loyola Scholar, inducted into the Order of the Coif, a First Honors Award recipient (remedies law), graduated cum laude, and served as a Note and Comment Editor on the International & Comparative Law Review.

Ms. Williams has previously represented the interests of valve manufacturer Crane Co. as a full-time contract attorney with one of the largest law firms worldwide. As a result, she has undergone extensive training and education on all types of valves, typical exposure areas and the inner workings of the equipment. During her time defending Crane Co., she learned a great deal about valve exposures on ships, at industrial settings, and in construction and residential sites. She has deposed numerous witnesses with a work history of valve manufacture and repair in a variety of matters.

As well, Ms. Williams currently defends cases regarding claims of shipboard exposures which require significant knowledge on valve and pump products. In representing the interests of the shipbuilder, exposure claims related to these materials are an integral part of the entire shipboard and shipyard work history.
