
Martin Lewis is a Partner in the Cleveland office of Tucker Ellis & West LLP. He practices in the areas of toxic tort defense and environmental law. Marty is the National Coordinating Counsel for a number of company defendants in asbestos and silica litigation. He has also represented parties in over 50 Superfund cases and appeared before administrative agencies and state and federal courts in environmental permit disputes and enforcement actions regarding hazardous substances, air and water pollution. Marty has also represented companies in regulatory and permit proceedings regarding the development and siting of electrical generating facilities.
Marty has advised numerous clients in property development and remediation under Ohio’s Brownfield Statute and counseled clients regarding due diligence and environmental liabilities associated with real property and corporate transactions. He has also advised the trust departments of financial institutions on the management of contaminated property.
Marty has lectured frequently and written a number of articles on environmental law and was the former Chairman of the Environmental Law Committee of the Columbus Bar Association.
In his spare time, Marty is an avid walker, having participated in the Columbus Marathon, and also enjoys reading, movies and traveling. Marty is married and the father of two adult daughters.
