Anthony D. Brosamle

Anthony "Tony" Brosamle is a member of Tucker Ellis & West’s Trial Department and represents business clients in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation, consumer class action, construction defect, products liability and other personal injury litigation.

Employment Litigation and Counseling
Tony has more than a decade of experience representing and counseling employers in an array of industries, including financial services, retail clothing, telecommunications, home repair and improvement, casino, industrial equipment, automobile service, and food and drug industries. Given his litigation experience and background, Tony has served the important needs of clients with respect to practical and risk preventative employment counseling. Tony provides counseling to employers concerning a wide variety of employment-related issues, including compliance with California and federal wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws, mandatory leave laws, record-keeping requirements, vacation requirements, and other human resources practices. His work with California employers of all sizes provides him with the skills and experience necessary to meet client needs in the timely and cost-effective manner.

Clients have relied on Tony to provide advice and guidance regarding workplace investigations, employee discipline and termination, and family medical leave and disability accommodation issues. He has developed and updated employee handbooks and personnel manuals to ensure both legal compliance and the movement to “best practice” standards, also developing client training programs regarding important issues such as unlawful employment practices, and anti-harassment, discrimination and retaliation policies, ensuring client compliance with statutory training obligations and the implementation of practices intended to minimize litigation risks. Further, Tony has defended employers of all sizes in employment investigations and litigation matters before state and federal courts and agencies. His employment litigation practice areas include wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff claims involving alleged wrongful termination, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, and unpaid wages.

Complex Commercial Litigation
Tony has extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation, including class actions and unfair business practice claims. He has represented financial institutions, advertisers, grocery operators, medical device suppliers, and television and motion picture production companies.

Construction Defect Litigation
Tony regularly represents construction subcontractors and building supply manufactures and distributors in pre-litigation warranty disputes and construction defect claims. He has defended clients in single-home and multi-project class-action litigation, but has also negotiated unique pre-litigation work and repair agreements.

Product Liability & Other Personal Injury Litigation
Tony has represented manufacturers in the defense of product liability claims alleging wrongful death and/or catastrophic injuries. He has represented manufactures of fire-safety equipment, multi-purpose lighters and other flame producing devices, complex scaffolding, industrial electrical equipment, cement pump equipment, exercise equipment, elevators and escalators, confectionery equipment, heavy construction equipment and cranes. Tony is also an experienced litigator in the areas of toxic tort and asbestos litigation representing clients in the industrial electrical control, HVAC, and respirator industries. Tony also represents clients before federal regulatory agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. His experience with the CPSC includes negotiating with compliance personnel in response to Commission letters of advice and advocating for clients during commission review of product testing compliance submissions.

Personal History
Tony Brosamle was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. As an undergrad he was a production assistant for KTLA’s “News at 10.” He earned his undergraduate degree and California Secondary Education Teaching Credential from Cal State University, Northridge. He taught High School US History and Government for five years before pursuing his J.D. at Loyola Law School. In law school, Tony externed with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office where he represented the State of California on more than one hundred felony preliminary hearings and two misdemeanor jury trials. Tony is a long-time resident of West Hills where he lives with his wife and two children.
